  3. The name of the first file in this disk's directory identifies the volume,
  4. issue number and revision of the disk. The format of this filename is:

  8. where
  9.     ! = the '!' character
  10.     m =   magazine code: C for CUJ, W for Windows/DOS, S for SysAdmin
  11.     vv =  volume
  12.     ii =  issue
  13.     rrr = revision (001 for initial release, 002 for next update, etc.)
  14.  
  15. The file UPDATE.DOC, if present, contains information about any
  16. additions or corrections to material on the disk since the original
  17. magazine publication.

  22. Names of files that appeared in the magazine are configured with a
  23. volume number, an issue number, a page number and an alphabetic
  24. letter, as follows:

  28. where
  29.     v   = first digit of volume number
  30.     N   = the letter N if v < 9, else the second digit of the volume number
  31.     ii  = issue number
  32.     ppp = page number
  33.     c   = A for first on page, B for 2nd on page, etc.

  36. Examples:  8N04121A: the first listing on page 121 in volume 8, issue 4.
  37.            1001035b: the second listing on page 35 in volume 10, issue 1.

  39. ************************** ADDITIONAL FILES *****************************

  41. If there are additional files (that did not appear in the actual article)
  42. supplied to us by authors for inclusion in the code disk, they may be
  43. combined into a self-extracting PKZIP archive having the author's name as
  44. filename, and extension .EXE. To uncompress such an archive, place it into
  45. a directory all by itself and run it. Short files may not be compressed.
